Bear with me here...
If you love the idea of spontaneously throwing your belongings in a bag and moving ~4,000 miles away from home, then you are in the right place! Follow me on my adventure from Columbia, South Carolina to Juneau, Alaska (I know, it's a BIG change, right?). You're going to see what it's like to adjust to a completely different environment, where the best local food/coffee is, what to do for entertainment, how many mountains I climb, and most importantly: how many bears I see.

I'm starting this blog as a Junior at UofSC to document my experiences during my semester away from home this fall. Through the National Student Exchange program, I will be temporarily relocating to the University of Alaska Southeast campus! As an Environmental Science major, I am ecstatic to be taking some specialized classes (like Icy Fjords and Biology of Marine Mammals). My plan is to be outdoors as much as possible to get the full ~Juneau~ experience! I can't wait :)

Now get out there with me and hug some bears!*

*(Don't actually do this, I hear they're not as friendly as they look, sadly)
